Frequently Asked Questions

DEPOSITS
------------------------------------------------------------------

Do I need to leave a deposit for you to design my tattoo?
In order for us to devote time and effort to your tattoo design we require a deposit - this is usually £25 for any tattoo, unless it is considered a quarter/half/full sleeve, back piece or quarter/hall/full leg sleeve - large scale tattoo designs do require a £50 deposit.

Do I need to pay a deposit when booking?
Yes, in order to secure your tattoo appointment, we require a £25 deposit. If you have paid a deposit for deign work to be undertaken - a booking deposit is not required.

Is my deposit refundable?
No, your deposit is not refundable - however, we can reschedule your appointment if you give us 48 hours (min) notice. We can only reschedule your appointment once.

PAIN
------------------------------------------------------------------

Will my tattoo hurt?
Yes.

Can you do anything to make it hurt LESS?
Yes! However, everyone has a different pain threshold. Relaxation techniques can be a great help, but find something that works for you. Some people use counting or imagining they are somewhere else. Listening to music can help keep you mind occupied so feel free to bring along you ipod and earphones. With larger tattoos, your body is pretty clever and you will find your endorphins kick in.

If all else fails, we can use topical numbing anaesthetic upon request at a rate of £5-10 per hour (depending on frequency of use during the procedure).

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?
------------------------------------------------------------------

Do NOT drink alchohol the night or morning before you appointment. Forget about dutch courage! Not only will it NOT numb the pain, alchohol thins the blood so you WILL bleed like something out of SAW. Asprin is another no-go, it's another blood thinner!

Try and have somehting light to eat before you appointment, a sugary drink and chocolate will help to keep your blood sugar up.

I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I WANT - CAN YOU HELP?
------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes! Contact us and make a consultation appointment with one of our artists. If you have any ideas, bring along some reference material which will help explain the look you are after.  We will be able to advise if your ideas will suite your body and if not willsuggest other placements or designs. If you really have NO idea what you want but just want something amazing then leaving the design up to the artist will result in a rocking tattoo!

WHERE TO GO?
------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're after an amazing, orginal tattoo then you are already in the right place! However, if you do choose to go elsewhere then please make sure you check out the below basics:

  • Check the studio and artist are registered with the local Enviromental Health
  • Do a bit of research, do you like their style of work (after all this piece of art is staying with you forever!)
  • Make sure you get a new needle and you are happy with the cleanliness/hygeine of the studio

We have all heard of a 'friend of a friend' who does pretty cheap tattoos from his/her house. Generally these people will not have insurance or registration so BE CAREFUL. If you are determinded to go ahead then you have to ensure that your tattooist is wearing gloves and you see that you a getting a new needle. Don't worry too much if this tattoo does not go as well as you would have expected. Our artists do amazing cover-ups!
